Adventuring is the outdoor club for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered community in the Washington DC area. Our volunteers lead hikes year-round, and in the warmer months we do recreational bike rides too, some shorter and others longer. That's not everything though. Meet usually once or twice per week to walk/hike Rock Creek Park in DC. Beginner to Intermediate pace, mostly flat gentle trails but mix in intermediate hiking. Mostly 45 minutes to an hour. I decided we needed a walking group for 50+ adults who enjoy walking for aerobic exercise at different scenic locations throughout the DC area on the weekend. (Friendly dogs [with owners who pick up after them] who enjoy walking along with their owners are also welcome.) The goals are good exercise and making connections with others who enjoy walking. It's more fun to walk with a friend than to walk alone. The walks will be two to three hours on non-strenuous terrain.
