Our volunteers lead hikes year-round, and in the warmer months we do recreational bike rides too, some shorter and others longer. That's not everything though. Camping, backpacking, and canoeing are examples of some of the other things we do when we have volunteers to lead them. We're all about enjoying the outdoors and being physically active. I decided we needed a walking group for 50+ adults who enjoy walking for aerobic exercise at different scenic locations throughout the DC area on the weekend. (Friendly dogs [with owners who pick up after them] who enjoy walking along with their owners are also welcome.) The goals are good exercise and making connections with others who enjoy walking. It's more fun to walk with a friend than to walk alone. The walks will be two to three hours on non-strenuous terrain.

Howdy folks! I decided to start this MeetUp because I live in Old Town Alexandria, but am thinking of moving to the Ballston area. So in order to learn more about it, I’d like to meet some “Ballstonians;” (or people who live nearby) and get to know them by hosting fun events, such as Twilight Happy Hour Boat Cruises on the Potomac, Game Nights, and Georgetown Kayaking! :)
I want to start a group for all the people out there who don't work full time whether they are a stay at home mom / dad, have visa restrictions (like me), are out of work, or just work part time.
