We walk and hike at a moderate pace of about a mile per 30 minutes in suburban Philly parks and main street towns. We will accommodate beginning walkers and hikers. No one will be left behind from the group as we hike/walk. If there is any nature item that is of interest we will stop to look. There is a $10 per calendar year fee or $2 fee per person including any guests you may bring to each walk to cover meetup website costs. After five hikes, you are done paying for the calendar year and can …
Transit-Friendly Hikes and Walks in (or near) Philadelphia are my personal focus as Organizer (as a car-free person), although carpooling is occasionally arranged. I originally joined this group because of its low-key focus: simple local hikes, within an hour's drive of Philadelphia. Please check our past calendar for the kinds of events we do (and may again). Also please contact me if you have ideas for future events (especially if you are willing to work on them yourself). Thanks and see y …
This group was started because there are not many active groups in my area. I love getting outdoors! The purpose of this group is to bring together individuals with a drive to be active, get outdoors, and have fun doing it! I will be planning trips involving kayaking, hiking, biking, maybe some dogs walks, etc. Everyone from all different levels of fitness are welcome to join. Activities will vary in difficulty and location. I do have a background in Physical Training so can give home helpful in …
Hiking Around Philly is different from most hiking groups because we hike (and sometimes bicycle) off the beaten path. We hike in the woods and the city. We go places that won't be found on any hiker's map. The events are usually within a 1.5 hour drive from Philly, though we sometimes visit NYC or the Jersey shore. Once each year we go to Acadia National Park in Maine, one of the best places in the world to hike. We sometimes participate in a conservation work party in a area we hike. And, we …

I am starting this group due to the fact one like it doesn’t seem to exist. There are plenty of hiking groups I have found in Philadelphia area, they all seem to fall into one of two groups. First kind of “hiking” group is for the slightly older crowd, mostly people in their 40s and 50s to take a leisurely hike around an arboretum. This would be perfect if I was 15 years older. The second group is for in shape hikers. I joined one of these groups, and an easy hike was 12 miles in 3 hours with so …

Meet other locals who are interested in exploring Philadelphia's legendary nooks and crannies, delving into its rich, flavorful history and discovering its best kept secrets! "Take nothing but photos, leave nothing but footprints." Urban exploration is the the examination of the normally unseen or off-limits parts of human civilization. To capture the past and explore the lives that once walked the hallways. Every abandoned structure was at one time a new, costly, state of the art endeavor that …

We are a group of singles, age 50 and up in the Doylestown, PA area. This is not a "casual hook-up" site or high pressure dating group. We seek to provide a low-stress opportunity for mature singles to meet and befriend other singles their age, expanding their social network and calendar. It is very possible and always a big bonus if, somewhere along the way, romance develops between members. But if that doesn't occur, getting out and having fun is not a bad goal in itself! We have dinner …
I've got an active, social dog who loves doing things in groups. Hikes, swims, and even good at out door restaurants. Would like to form a group of others looking for the same thing. So, if you've got a dog who is your best friend and can play well with others...we've to get get together.
