The club was formed in November of 1928 by the then mayor of Louisville, William B. Harrison. Orienteering Louisville (OLOU) is a club chartered by the US Orienteering Federation. OLOU holds several meets throughout the year in both Kentucky and Indiana. Orienteering is a sport and recreational outdoor activity that involves navigating a set course using a specialized topographical map and a compass.
