There appears to be an overflow of people interested in escaping the city and heading for the hills to breath in some fresh Victorian air and draw in the pleasures of nature. I was initially hoping to simply join an established group but when hikes are booked and RSVP’s closed up to 4 months in advance it has me realising that Melbourne Meetups is in definite need of another hiking club (or as we call it in Kiwiland ‘Tramping’ club)!

Do you enjoy walking to keep fit and healthy? Not quite power walking but aiming to be a bit brisk. I have a small dog and really don’t mind if people want to bring dogs or pushchairs but this is intended to be an adult group. It would be great to meet fellow walkers in …

Hungry, thirsty walkers enjoy combining a great outdoor experience with lovely food and drink. Our walks are generally held on the Mornington and Bellarine Peninsulas as well as in metropolitan Melbourne. The walks are generally no more than 3 or 4 hours duration ( so we can end the day with a late lunch) and tend to be reasonably easy. We are going to let a certain number of people freely book in for walks but then we will have a manual waiting list in order to try to balance the genders. Othe …
